![]() ![]() The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. She adored her nieces and nephew and loved to spoil them. Survivors include her brother, Bert Osment (Lena) nieces, Sarah Watson and Kelly Osment and nephew, Cody Chris Osment. She also loved Ireland and always said " Ireland was the most beautiful country on earth"! Ella Sue was a member of the North Cleveland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Her favorite destination was London and she loved visiting William Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon. One of her trips to Europe, she took a bus 1,263 miles from Rome to Paris. Her travels included two trips around the world, several trips to Europe, Australia, Costa Rica and Hawaii. Besides teaching, Ella Sue enjoyed shopping and traveling. She cherished each and everyone of her students! Later in life, she would ask everyone she met where they attended high school and if she had taught them. Many of her former students refer to her as "their favorite teacher". Miss Osment taught junior and senior English at Bradley Central High School for 30 years, from 1969 until 1999. She was very excited to visit Anne Frank's home in Amsterdam and the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. In 1977, she took a select group of seniors on a tour of Europe, including, Belgium, Amsterdam and Paris, France. Miss Osment loved teaching Shakespeare and Science Fiction. With bittersweet emotions, she transferred to the new Bradley Central High School in the fall of 1972. She started her teaching profession at the old Bradley High School in the fall of 1969. Ella Sue, a long time educator, attended Lee College and Carson Newman College and graduated from Lee College (Lee University), in the spring of 1969. He was a proud father to Nikki Varnell, Matt Varnell (Kassie Yeats Varnell) and Katie Varnell, and a loving grandfather to Lillian and Anna. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and seeing the country that he loved. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved boating and camping, especially at Parksville Lake. He volunteered for many organizations over the years and loved helping people. He was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, and served as a Sunday school teacher when his children were young. He was honored to be elected and serve as a county commissioner. ![]() He was a long term member of both the Kiwanis Club and the Elks Club. ![]() Bill returned to his beloved Cleveland to raise his family, serving the community as a banker for many years before becoming an independent stock broker for Hillard Lyons, where he worked until his retirement.īill had a strong commitment to serving his community. He received a bachelor of science in business administration from Samford University. He was honorably discharged following his service in the Vietnam War. He loved the Tennessee Volunteers and was proud that he was part of the university’s football team before leaving to join the army. He was a member of the first state championship football team at Cleveland High School, where he graduated in 1969.
